Our experience of nature is varied and each of us connect with plants in our own personal way, as diverse and individual as the land itself. Whether you enjoy strolling through gardens, exploring the plants and birds, or sitting quietly and just watching, the Lubbock Arboretum offers something for everyone. 

Admission:  Free                               Park Hours:  5 am to 12 midnight

Location:  4111 University Ave., Lubbock, TX 79413

Facilities:
  • The Interpretive Center (Red Brick House):  The Interpretive Center is wheelchair accessible via the raised cedar deck in back. (Follow the brick walk through the ornamental iron gate).  The center houses the Arboretum office and boardroom, a meeting room, kitchen and restroom.  The center is available for use by any group that is related to horticultural activities at no charge (arrangements must be made in advance). 
 
  • Volunteer Opportunities and Educational Programs:  The Arboretum offers volunteer opportunities and Second Saturday programs. 
 
  • Restrooms: Restroom facilities are available in the Hodges Community Center and the Garden and Arts Center during normal operating hours.
 
  • Guided Tours: Special guided tours are available to educate groups about trees and plants as well as growing conditions. Arrangements can be made by calling the Arboretum at 806-797-4520.
 
  • Gardens:  Available to visit are the Hodges Rose Garden, Perennial Gardens, Sensory Garden, Wildflower Garden & Memorials. 

  • Pets:  Pets are allowed but must be on a leash per City Ordinance.
