The mission of the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum Foundation, Inc. is to provide an educational opportunity to our community on all aspects of horticulture in the area. Develop an understanding and appreciation of trees, ornamental plants, encourage beautification of public & private lands, conservation of natural resources, and promote cooperation with other organizations with similar goals.
For your use and enjoyment, the following Park Rules have been established by the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum:

- Trails are designed for hiking/walking only. Jogging, biking, skateboarding, horseback riding and other sport recreation activities are not allowed.
- Leave no trace. Littering hurts wildlife and damages our landscape. Trash bins are located around the property and buildings for your convenience. Balloons and confetti are strictly prohibited.
- For your safety and to reduce environmental impact, please stay on designated paths.
- Dogs are permitted on a leash only. All City of Lubbock Ordinances regarding dogs must be followed (see City Ordinances below). Do not leave pets unattended in vehicles.
- We require that adult sponsors supervise visiting youth groups. At least one adult chaperone per 10 children is required.
- No weapons of any kind are permitted on the Arboretum grounds or in our buildings.
The following Park Rules have been established by City Ordinance, and violators of these rules are subject to fines.

The following are PROHIBITED in any park or park facility controlled by the Parks and Recreation Department:
WARNING Texas Law (Chapter 75, Civil Practice and Remedies Code) limits the liability the State and Municipality or County for damages arising directly from hockey, in-line hockey, skating, in-line skating, roller-skating, skateboarding, or roller-blading on premises that the State or Municipality or County owns, operates or maintains for that purpose. Some activities may be permitted by the Parks and Recreation Department or allowed in designated areas. Actual ordinance provisions may be viewed on-line.

- Glass containers
- Unauthorized motor vehicles and motorized devices on grass areas (including motorcycles, scooters, etc.) and a speed limit of 20 on all park roads
- Littering, dumping or emptying wastewater
- Disturbing or removing plants, grass, or otherwise disturbing any part of the environment
- Dogs off leash
- Failure to immediately clean up after dog or pet
- Golfing
- Swimming
- Fires (except in designated grills)
- Vandalizing or defacing any structures or facilities
- Overnight camping
- Hunting, trapping or removal of any animal; or to let loose any animal
- Weapons of any kind except as provided for under the Texas Concealed Weapons Act
- Amplified sound
- Failure to observe posted signs in park and along trails
- Practice of athletic activities on game fields without reservation
- Horseback riding
- Metal Detecting
- Model or remote-control planes are only allowed at Lt. Col. George Andrew Davis, Jr. Field. Fishing is permitted in lakes but is subject to state laws and licensing requirements.
